With extensive experience serving the medical device market since 2004, NPBS® Bearing understands the strict requirements of OEM manufacturers and delivers reliable solutions backed by rigorous quality standards and responsive engineering support.
Medical applications demand bearings capable of operating at high speeds with low noise, long service life, and exceptional resistance to harsh environments, corrosive chemicals, and aggressive fluids. To meet these challenges, NPBS® Bearing offers precision miniature ball bearings, ceramic bearings, hybrid bearings, thin section bearings, one-way bearings, and needle bearings manufactured from advanced stainless steels, ceramics, engineering plastics, and specialized lubricants.
In addition, NPBS® Bearing supports medical device manufacturers with precision one-way and needle bearing solutions that provide accurate unidirectional torque transmission and consistent motion control, essential for reliable diagnostics and patient care. With thousands of precision bearings in stock and ready for shipment, NPBS® Bearing remains a trusted global partner for innovative medical bearing technology.
Bearing Solutions for The Medical Industry
All bearings should be manufactured using rings produced from high purity material. Common materials for bearings for medical instruments include:
- Martensitic stainless steel, similar to AISI 440C
- Nitrogen enhanced martensitic stainless steel
- Ceramic materials, such as silicon nitride
- 300 series Stainless Steel
Stainless steel bearings relatively compare to general steel has strong rust and corrosion resistance, even if it needs to withstand repeated cleaning, it is still not easy to rust, at the same time, relative to ceramic bearing is a more cost-effective choice, therefore, it is very common in many medical equipment. Some environments may still require an outer cover seal design to protect the bearing interior from contamination.
Characteristics of ceramic bearings
Our corrosion-resistant bearing solutions are designed to withstand extreme operating conditions created by miniaturization and exposure to highly caustic substances. Ceramic balls are widely used in oxygen pump check valves for ventilators and respiratory equipment, ensuring durability, reliability, and smooth operation. NPBS® Bearing also provides advanced zirconia ceramic solutions that offer outstanding strength, biocompatibility, lower plaque adhesion, superior soft tissue response, and completely metal-free performance for demanding medical applications.
Lubrication
Lubricant selection may be the specification most overlooked by designers and engineers. In Medical, and most bearing applications, life depends on proper lubrication in terms of both type and amount.
